MPIO Training Darwin 24 March 21

The department of Sport and Active Recreation will be holding MPIO Face to Face training in Darwin on Wednesday 24 March 2021:

  • 6 – 9pm
  • Sport & Rec Conference Room, 1st Floor JHV2, Jape Homemaker Village

A Member Protection Information Officers play an important role in sport. They provide information and guidance on complaints procedures.  They are the 'go to' person if you want to discuss problems at your club/association, particularly if you are considering making a formal complaint.

At present ENT has two MPIO:  Anne-Marie Cruickshank and Tanya Reynolds.

You don’t need to be on the Board, or a committee member of a club to become an MPIO.  In fact it is probably more beneficial that an MPIO is not connected to the day to day running of the club as that’s often where the complaints are connected to.  With more MPIO we can give the people in equestrian sport more options to choose who they can talk to.

Attendees will need to complete the online training component prior to attending the Face to Face session, and completion certificates will need to be submitted to us via email. Note: completion of the online component is a mandatory pre-requisite to attending the Face to Face session.

The online training can be accessed here: https://www.playbytherules.net.au/online-courses/mpio-online-course

There is limited spaces, bookings are essential.  Bookings can be completed via this link https://www.eventbrite.com.au/e/mpio-face-to-face-training-2021-darwin-tickets-144952235037

For those members outside of Darwin who are not available to attend this face to face (F2F) session, Sport SA do offer the F2F component via zoom for a small $35 fee.  This is another option for people to consider.  (Participants are still required to do the online component first).  If this may be a better option for you, details of the training sessions are available to view here: https://www.sportsa.org.au/trng/

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask.
