If you have any questions in relation to the One Membership Strucutre, please do not hesitate to contact us via email: [email protected]

Under the ‘one sport, one membership’ structure it has delivered consistent membership categories in the sport being as follows:-

Individual

  • Competitor
  • Participant
  • Supporter

Groups

  • Clubs
  • Sport Affiliate
  • Commercial

Competitor membership is available to those that participate and contribute to the competitive environment of equestrian sport.  A competitor member is permitted to compete at all levels of the sport.  You can register a horse and obtain competition licences across all disciplines.  You have voting rights for Board elections and AGMs (you must be 18 years and over to vote).

Participant membership  is available to those who actively participate and contribute to grassroots and recreational equestrian sport activities.  You can only compete in certain categories – which will be known as participant classes previously named unofficial/ungraded classes e.g. Intro classes in eventing; or those people wanting to take advantage of the insurance; or those who are just interested in EA and want to be kept up to date with newsletters etc.  You can register a horse but if the horse is being competed officially then the competitor will need to hold the correct membership.  You have voting rights for Board elections and AGMs (you must be 18 years and over to vote).

Supporter membership is available to those that contribute to the competitive environment of equestrian sport but do not participate in competitions, such as officials, owners or non-competing coaches and volunteers.  They are recognised as having a significant contribution to the sport and give back through their various areas.  EA accredited officials only (your name must appear on an officials list with one of the EA disciplines) who do not compete or own horses.  You have voting rights for Board elections and AGMs.

Club membership is available to incorporated clubs that support development of equestrian across the country.

Commercial membership is available to businesses or groups which align with EA to access EA services for a commercial benefit; people wanting to register horses in the name of their company or family name.  However, anyone competing the horse officially will need to be a financial member in their own right.

Sport Affiliate membership is available to any Equestrian groups which affiliate for the purpose of equestrian sport delivery i.e. Show Societies.
