Resumption of Equestrian Sport

The resumption of equestrian sport opened with the Darwin Dressage Club last weekend at Freds Pass Sport and Recreation Reserve with a complementary practice day.  This weekend Darwin Show Jumping Club is hosting a freshmans day, with a record number of entries.  ENT is pleased to see our members are so enthusiastic to return to equestrian sport.

ENT has been working on several initiatives to support our affiliated clubs and coaches to place them in a position to provide continued opportunities and learning for our members.

Darwin Dressage Club, Darwin Show Jumping Club, Alice Springs Dressage Club and Alice Springs Equestrian Management Group have received financial assistance from ENT to purchase additional equipment that is required to deliver their disciplines.

The Coronavirus Pandemic has affected many people, in many ways. As a result of the border closure, it has highlighted to ENT the need for home grown talent in the coaching and officiating sector of our sport.

Having accredited coaches in the NT is vital for equestrian sport to grow and develop.  To ensure all current ENT coaches remain accredited come 1 July, ENT coaches will receive a 50% rebate from ENT on their coach’s insurance.

ENT has several other initiatives in progress, that will be shared with the membership in the coming weeks.

ENT continued priority is the safety of our members and the community.
